Spanish colonialist architecture, sometimes in ruins and at times left intact, plays a major role in various locations of Mexico. While serving as an important infrastructural role in everyday Mexican economy and recreational purposes, these places such as ‘plazitas’ serve as something much more unique.

Today we see a reinterpretation of that architecture, by reclaiming the space that once served the colonization of native people in Mexico, they now have designated these areas to function for them.

In this particular case we see people across various demographics taking ownership of the space that was once meant to oppress them, but now used as a place to show unapologetic love.
